Join Dan Pope and I in our new online course teaching you how to work with people that want to get back to the gym
More and more people are focusing on their fitness and training hard in the gym. And while not everyone is a competitive powerlifter, olympic lifter, bodybuilder, or CrossFit athlete, that doesn’t mean people aren’t competitive with themselves and others when training at the gym.
If you love training in the gym, you’re a athlete in our mind. We’ve seen a new “sport” of fitness, which has led to the rise of the “fitness athlete.”
Having an injury or even just pain that limits their ability to train in the gym can be devastating to these people. We all learn the basics in school, but working with these fitness athletes needs more than just an understanding of the body and pain. You need to understand the stress and mechanics of the lifts in the gym that they need to perform, and how to get people back into the gym as fast and safe as possible.
That’s why we created this online course of the Rehabilitation of the Fitness Athlete. Our goal is to help you work with these athletes to get them back to the gym, and then stay in the gym.
I’ve teamed up with Dan Pope to build this course. Dan’s the leading expert in this field and my go-to resource for working with this population. More importantly, Dan has both coached and competed as a fitness athlete, so understands what it takes.
We’ll cover the principles of working with these athletes, the main lifts of the squat, deadline, and press, and then how to help these people get back to the activities they love.

The first step in working with fitness athletes is understanding all the common injuries and why they occur. You can use this knowledge to evaluate and treat this population.
Just knowing how to work with shoulder, knee, or back pain isn’t enough. You need to understand the main lifts – the squat, deadlift, and press – from a technical standpoint to appreciate the stress and know how to best help these people.
There are a lot of variables that go into someone’s performance in the gym. We’ll cover how to assess someone’s ability to perform these exercises so you can start optimizing their movement and performance.
Learn how to help people rehabilitate an injury, train around an injury, and then gradually build back to their training program. Unfortunately, we don’t learn this in school.
