Stuff You Should Read

Enhancing Dorsiflexion and Simple Systems

This week’s stuff you should read comes from Jon Goodman, Chris Johnson, and

Inner Circle and Update

My next Inner Circle webinar will be on 5 Ways to Prevent Little League Injuries.  I thought this would flow well with my post earlier in the week on Preventing Youth Sports Injuries.  My readers know this is a big topic for me, so I’m looking forward to getting this out to you before your local Little League seasons begin.  Realistically, this info will apply to most youth baseball and softball, not just Little League.  I still don’t have a date yet but likely first half of the month.  Learn more about my Inner Circle program. featured a nice webinar on arthroscopic acromioplasty.  Dr. Matthew White, from ASMI, will review the pathophysiology, clinical indications, and related radiographic findings in addition to discussing the past, present, and future of the technique.

Simples Systems to Get More Clients and Patients

Jon Goodman wrote a pretty nice article over at his website about 3 systems he uses in his personal training business.  I like systems, and I like Jon Goodman’s work, so I was excited to read this article.  Good stuff, but what struck me more was that physical therapists just don’t think this way.  PT’s read this and do this and better than a 9:00-5:00 therapist collecting your salary, pretend you have your own mini-private practice, even if your are employed.

Enhancing Dorsiflexion

Chris Johnson has a couple of nice videos on enhancing ankle dorsiflexion.  Good tips, as always, from Chris.

Mike, thanks for sharing. Chris always has great information, but Jon’s site is new to me. It is refreshing to see clinicians working together and sharing information, rather than worrying about turf wars and personal gains. The profession as a whole, as well as our patients, can only benefit, long-term, from more collaboration between clinicians seeking evidenciary best-practices and expertise.

Mike, I appreciate the info. I looked at Chris Johnson’s website. The script says DF with tibial IR. The mobilization almost looks like PF with tibial ER. Am I missing something?
