My Favorite Articles
A collection of my all time favorite articles
Welcome back! Now that we’ve gone through the “best of the best” articles on MikeReinold.com, I also wanted to share my personal favorites. I have realized that for whatever reason, sometimes what I think is a great article, doesn’t make it “popular.”
If you haven’t had a chance to get caught up on my most popular articles, go back and check out my best of the best articles.
The articles below are what I consider some of my personal favorites.
MY FAVORITE ARTICLES
- My Recommendations on Choosing the Best IASTM Tool – I get asked all the time about IASTM tools since I created IASTMtechnique.com. Many know that I don’t believe you need to buy expensive or fancy tools. Here are what I recommend, ranging from $5 to $5000!
- What We Can All Learn From a Barbershop – I wrote a few of these types of articles, but really enjoyed putting the barber shop one together. I wish younger professionals would read these.
- The Problem with the Kinetic Chain Concept – An interesting look at a big flaw of the kinetic chain and my discussion about the “kinetic chain ripple effect” that I talk about.
- The One Thing We Need to Do With Everyone – Spoiler – it’s not fancy… it’s not rocket science… But it’s mandatory
- The Minimum Viable Exercise – We are all guilty at times of doing too much, read this and learn how to figure out how much to do.
- Is Perfect Squat Form a Myth? – One of my favorites for sure. People can’t squat like a text book, in this article I discuss why.
- 4 Ways to Improve Overhead Shoulder Mobility – A great video of me discussing some concepts on the whiteboard (I love whiteboards…)
- Anterior Pelvic Tilt Influence on Squat Mechanics – This goes well with the above article, but another video showing some key concepts regarding squats (and another whiteboard!)
- How “Movement Age” Impacts Program Design – We talk a lot about “training age,” but I think “movement age” may be even more important
- Do We Really Need Corrective Exercises? If I’m even asking, you probably know the answer… find out what I mean.
- Is it Time to Ditch Rehabilitation Protocols? The internet is a fun place, but you often hear very slanted opinions and sensationalized comments. In this article I talk about why we may still need to follow rehab protocols and how they apply to our practice.
