Anterior shoulder pain is common in overhead athletes and baseball players. This pain often comes from the biceps, but may not be the root of the issue.
In this episode, I talk with Dr. Brandon Erickson about the role of the biceps, it’s contribution to shoulder pain, SLAP tears, and biceps tendodesis surgery.
Dr. Erickson is a board certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon, specializing in sports related injuries of both athletes and non-athletes alike. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL followed by a Sports Medicine fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, NY. During his fellowship, Dr. Erickson served as one of the assistant team physicians for the New York Mets. He now works at Rothman Orthopaedics in New York with office in Manhattan, Tarrytown and Harrison and serves as the assistant team physician for the Philadelphia Phillies.
